Fifteen years passed since I heard from high-school folks
Would have skipped their invitation if I could
Showed up at the place, not a single known face
When someone at my back said: “Hey man, you're looking good”
And I replied:
You should put that right Put that right
You should put that right Put that right
Go check-in your sight Put that right
You should put that right
& it better be tonight
He said: “You don't recognize me, do ya? It's Pete!
Yeah, just let myself go and changed a bit my look”
Pete the neat? The hell he was! I said:
“Bet you've eaten Pete for the size I see you took”
And You should put that right Put that rightt
You should put that right Put that right
You should put that right Put that right
Gotta start to workout
Ain't you getting too stout
So you still believe you're a handsome stud
But that silly wig just gave you away
Did you really pop your cherry yet?
Or will you have to go & pay?
I see you've changed but not your ways
But it's fun to see you're still such a prick
Did you get over that strange addiction?
Round two and your blood just went thick
You should put that right Put that right
You should put that right Put that right
& don't be such a hick/dick Put that right
You should put that right
& you better fix it quick

The clockwork king
04:56
|
|||
The clockwork king is old & rusty
Still flattered by a bunch of fools
They’ll fight to death to save the crown
& run this country with his rules.
The clockwork king is weak & tired
But they won’t let’m leave the throne
Whatever takes to keep’m steady
But the king feels used & all alone.
The royal motor often goes in pain
Straight into the workshop to get fixed once again.
Quick adjust, slight touch
& he’ll be as precise as grandpa’s watch.
Chest of bronze, hips of steel
Grease his gear ain’t big deal
The clockwork king talks to the folk
But he goes nuts & flubs his speech
Says: ”You gotta follow my every word
Though you see I don’t practice what I preach”
He’s nothing but an old heap of junk
No more gleam of his dusty trunk
Too much data, he’s gone insane
Flash his mind & out again
Reset his conscience is all we do
Lastest version 3.2
He is in a fast decline
Cos of the plot against the crown
But he’ll make of it a mighty fall
Cos’ he’ll try to drag all the traitors down
The clockwork king has gone senile
& won’t be taken in for a last repair
It’s the final crack in the grey engine
no supplies for such an old spare
The clockwork king is the biggest victim of the plan
But he’ll take down with him as many as he can
Outdated kit, obsolete machine
While everyone flatters the new Golden Queen
Rolling head, broken brain
The clockwork king’s been slain

I finally got caught with my hands in the pot
Those who knew about us said it was just a matter of time
Someone blew the whistle on us and our lifestyle
But at least, girl, you got away with the crime
You got away with the crime
It wrinkles my heart to see you locked (up) in this cell
& it won’t ease my pain to think they didn't bust me
Lots of risky years put to make a life
& all to end (up) living (in) this misery
No matter how long we are apart
Someday we’ll be shining wild and free
All the time in the world, we can wait eternally
Soon we shall make real our fantasy
Running on the edge was the only life we knew
Aware this could become part of the game
They trapped just me but they’ve got us both paying
Although we never planned to share the blame
They call me a fool for walking so far & wide
But I don’t give a danm ‘bout a word they say
Soon I’ll be coming back for your relief
Catch them by surprise & run away
& run away
No matter how long we are apart
Someday we’ll be shining wild and free
All the time in the world, we can wait eternally
Soon we shall make real our fantasy

Struck on the road
04:25
|
|||
Here we go, the world is ours
We've got ahead a long road to face
This is the show we've got to run
But you've gotta be ready for glory & disgrace
We'll be announced all over the place
This is the perfect spot to show your skills
Though business is low to make a living
We don't skimp on details & frills
Scheduled breaks to rest and reload
Don't push your luck too far, boy
Cos' you don't want yourself stuck on the road
Hooch and smokes are the regular fuel
To endure the burning sun & the ocassional rain
You better go easy on that extra stuff
Excess of bust & you won't manage the strain
Step on it man
There you go, that's your first round's ding
We know you'll do your best under the big top
Don't let the game leave you too deplete
Or you won't make it to our next stop
Level's high from the day of depart
You gotta be deft & you gotta be fast
But most of all you must be smart
Is that it? Was that all you have to give
We thought you were up for this kind of trek
Gotta keep going & no-one'll wait
So you better pack up & step off this wreck

Dance with me
05:25
|
|||
Ever since I saw you at Duke's I´ve had a crush on you
You didn't give a damn & I couldn't forget you if I wanted to
You were the one alone but looked so sure & proud
You seemed so high up there outstanding in the crowd
You seeeeeem a brave stud,so handsome & svelte
But not for that I’ll be (just) another notch in your belt
It's always been my cross to bear creeps, jerks, & such
So dream & watch all you want baby, but you can never touch
So will you dance with me, dance with me
& tell me how to get into your groove
Dance with me, dance with me
Show me how you do that sexy move
So tell me what to do to get your sympathy?
Better make sure I'm your kind of company
So what do I have to do for you to be my queen?
Help me to the men's room & you'll find out what I mean
Everyone was watching amazed by the swinging of your gown
But I was just enjoying blowing everybody down
Ever since I saw you baby, I had to make you mine
let me tell you, poor soul, you better get in line
So won't you dance with me, dance with me
& tell me how to get into your groove
Dance with me, dance with me
Show me how you do that racy move
It's you who's gotta dance
If you wanna get your chance
To be with me
Gotta show your quality
You've gotta dance
If you wanna get your chance
To be with me
Gotta show your quality

You better run
05:57
|
|||
I’ve got a little word for you, son
Let me show you who’s in charge
Here’s the golden rule in this line of work
You should be following by & large
It's all about patience here
In this wacky game we play
But you rushed a bit on your scam
So you ain’t going nowhere ‘till I say
Did you really think you could just walk away
Make your move & leave me broke
You were just the man counting the cash
So you’re going nowhere with my stash
I never was an easy man to cheat
& I admit it was a master stroke
No place in this town where you can hide
Since you stepped on the wrong side
You better run lad, nothing left for you to do
You better run, cos’ I’ve put my men on you
You better run, they will catch you in the street
You better run, cos’ they will drag you to my feet
Yeah, my goons are all over town
But you don’t have to panic, they won’t hurt you at all
They just have to bag you like a stray
& you’ll be paying before the light of day
I’ll turn the world upside down to find you
& tip-off every little snitch in town
Can you feel how hot I’m on your trail
Won’t rest 'till I see you fail
You better run lad, nothing left for you to do
You better run, cos’ I’ve put my men on you
You better run, they will catch you in the street
You better run, cos’ they will drag you to my feet
Here’s the golden rule for you now
‘Cos I’ve got nothing but time
All I have to do is sit & wait
(To) see you pay for your crime

The old granger
03:49
|
|||
Like every morning I was going around the county
Trying to get a temp job for my bounty
Checking out if a hired hand was needed for the day
But the foreman said: “Sorry man, try your luck again tomorrow, (I’ve) got nothing for you today”.
It looks like one more dry Monday ahead
Cos' they’d rather sign strongmen or use machines instead
Once I was their henchman exerting till I broke my bones
Pounding their quarry with hand tools, turning it into dust & stones.
Now I’m an old granger standing in a Blue-collar queue
Just a simple peasant waiting in line for my daily claim
I’m an old granger standing in this single-file row
Just a lonely peasant waiting in line to hear my name.
Eli Whitney cotton gin
Ruined the old days of working lean
Everybody hears that giant engine
The motor’s racket & the thunderous din.
Everything turned tougher now that I’m over the hill
Today I worked double to pay my heating bill
Another empty mine, another factory shut down
All resources wasted in this old country town

One shot gun
03:20
|
|||
Twice, three times a week I ride my old mule down the track
Load my quarts on her rump, Cross the border down & back
But on my return today that crook came to steal my mule
Swear I had no other choice but shoot that poor fool
What clouded my mind to put a bullet in his head
He left no time for showdown so the bastard now is dead
Just one certain shot & I tried to get away
But they caught me at Presidio & will hang me at midday
With my one-shot-gun
I killed that dirty buckaroo
Shot my silver bullet one
When he came out of the blue
Tried to cross the border back
But they threw me in this cell
They'll hang me before noon
Cos' I sent'm straight to hell
Twice three times a week I used to ride down to the well
Won't be going there no more cos’ I’m stuck here in this cell
It was clearly do or die as I claimed when I was sworn
But they sentenced me so fast that I'll be dead tomorrow morn
With my one-shot-gun
I killed that dirty buckaroo
Shot my one silver slug
What was I suppose to do?
Tried to jump the border back
But they locked me in this cell
They will hang me before noon
Cos' I sent'm straight to hell

Aldwyn
03:52
|
|||
Aldwyn spent the night awake trying to face his grief
Gazing how the valley starts to dawn
The roads already hum & the blaze begins to fade
He clearly feels that soon he will be gone.
Too soon to clean the haze, too soon to let the sun warm up
Too late to burn another log
His dog lays stiff but loyal at his feet
Still under a thin cloak of fog.
He's old enough to accept the rush of time
But not to take the ravages of age
He knows a man dies learning while years flash away
Though he hasn't written the whole page
He coughs but lights another smoke
While the breeze blows the ash & clowds away
As far as he can see it’ll be a shiny morn
But the day will be turning dark & grey.
There & then he learns the hour's stalking close
& the more he finds about life, the less he feels he knows
Aldwyn spent the day awake waiting for the dusk
Watching how the rain cleaned up his sight
It seams another day squeezed out of his hands
While he doubts he'll make it to the night
He's old enough to take the ravages of age
But not to accept the course of time
He knows a man dies learning while years flash away
Though he hasn't written the whole page
